Last night I had a epiphany !!!

The Adventures of " The World Greatest Cathouse ". Last night I had a epiphany. The surge of energy, a vision that I have been working on for years , was tremendous. It all came together last night.

Now it all comes down to blood , sweat and tears. To abandoned the emotional roller coaster of previous obstacles, To realize Chrissy and I walk a human path only guided by the spirit of light-power and love.

The Crazy Catman ??????

I'm a good man !!! I’m the defender of the unwanted. With and with out fur. Why does everyone in this little Town of ours thinks that I'm The Crazy Catman ??????  In this Town many folks know me , they either love me or hate me ?????

I have put all my skills together to run Puffy Paws Kitty Haven.
I'm still a sharp - tongue talking, 10th Ward Yankee, that has stood up against anyone who has tried to harm the kitties and my family.

I’m not a door mat . I have expose corruption , cronyism.
I’m the voice of those who can not speak for themselves.

I have kept half of the criminals in Englewood out of jail and prison by staying open late at the Thrift Shop so they can do their Community Service hours.

I may be a bastard at times but I’m not a cheap bastard.
I have helped many people in the Community that were down and out.

Maybe I’m crazy but you have to be, to do what I’m doing with my life in saving the unwanted kitties and helping the undesirables folks of the community !!!!

Who the hell I’m to judge !!!!!
That’s the good citizen of the Community to do that !!!!!!

If you need to call me the crazy catman go ahead -

Stick and Stones  - Baby !!!!!

What counts is how I live my life !!!!!!

And the proof is in the pudding.

I talk the talk and walk the walk !!!!!

Do you ?????????????

Sometimes I need to beat our own drum !!!!!!

Rick’s Rants - When you do the right thing. When you live from your heart. When you share the good times and the bad times. When you put the kitties needs first. When you talk the talk and walk the walk. The whole world notices.
Here is why !!!!!

Puffy Paws has over 6000 sq feet for our total operation, at two separate locations.
We have two brick and mortar building for the kitties. AKA -The World's Greatest Cat House.

We have the 2000 sq foot " Haven Home " which has our healthy adoptable kitties, and our permanent residence who have physical, emotional and behavioral problems.

Our 2nd building is 800 sq foot and it is solely use for the kitties with feline leukemia, which we have nick named " The Kitty Angel Club " because all the precious fur-babies are living angels who are living out their lives.

We have a 350 sq feet Outdoor Enclosure, The Purrfect fence.

We have the Donation And Storage Center - AKA - The Thrift Shop AKA - Englewood's Strangest Store. Inside & Out = 3200 sq

We never have to raise funds for salaries or high administrative cost in the name of animals.

We do not get paid !!! We do not have to entice folks to donate by throwing fancy parties, events, golf tournaments, wine tasting contest or the such.

You won't get your picture in the newspaper or in the high society column, or a sumptuous meal and a cocktail hour!!!!

When you donate .What you get is a warm fuzzy knowing you are directly responsible for saving the lives of the special need and unwanted kitties.

Your donation dollars go to the kitties daily needs

Their Vet Care

And the operation expenses of running Puffy Paws Kitty Haven.

Enough Said !!!!!!!!!!!!

PS: You all knew this anyway !!!!! MOL
I just could not be bad.
I just pointed out all the good we do.
Back up by facts…
Sometimes I need to beat our own drum !!!!!!

Puffy Paws Kitty Haven is so special and unique.

I think Puffy Paws Kitty Haven is so special and unique. We have Catherine our right hand lady busting her butt for the kitties on-line. We have Chrissy and I and a brunch of rag tagged brunch of criminals turning their lives around doing Community Service hours.
We have the greatest Thrift Shop in the World !!!! Englewood's Strangest Store. And we are The World's Greatest Cathouse. Most of all w...e have love from, you all, the kitties lovers around the World. While the other groups and small minded Town folks, in the area have to bad mouth Puffy Paws and spread rumors Believe me it all gets back to me. I have eyes and ears every where.
They fight over the same donation dollar in this small Town of ours. We left this Town spiritually years ago, but graphically we stay here for the unwanted kitties of the Community. We are bigger and better than ever and we can never do what we do without your help.
We hope we made you all proud in 2011 !!!!!!!!!!!

Thrift Shop Boys

The kitties take care of people who take care of the kitties !!!! My Thrift Shop Boys are sitting in the Charlotte County Jail for getting drunk and stupid, last week. Joey & Kevin. Kevin is 18, Joey is 21. Kevin is facing 5 years and Joey is facing 10 years.

For what ??? Drunken bad decisions in a moment of time.

Its funny the good citizen of Englewood do not step up to the plate and volunteer but the throw aways of society always have and always will.

These boys were their for the kitties when no one was. Busting their ass at the Thrift Shop in 95 degree weather, year in and year out.

In early sobriety, I lost my first family. My wife and daughter. At times I was homeless, hungry and at that jumping off place many times. I have been in that dark zone were no cared if I lived or died.  It’s an awful lonely place to be.

Than God put people in my path who reached out to me and grabbed me with all their might and loved me until I could love myself.

They touched my very heart and soul and today I’m a changed man. Giving to others freely as it was given to me.

So the kitties and I  know how the boys feel right now and we do not forget about the young men who care about us.

In jail it’s the little things that lift the broken soul.

May the boys find themselves in their time of reflection.
To make it a little bit easier.

The kitties sent the boys Icare packages.
May they pig out with grace and style.

Kevin will get this week.

In my heart of hearts

I'm back !!! So much hard work at the Thrift Shop this weekend....Great Community Service crew with drama and an edge !!! Business was way down due to the Holiday !!! It was just like this last year but it will pick up !!!!!!!!
Its get totally insane over here sometimes yet lots of work was done. It was a wild holiday weekend....GO GO GO and now I'm by myself and I have caught my second wind and I...'m ready to kick some more butt at the Thrift Shop.
Englewood can talk smack about me all they want cause I know in my heart of hearts my deeds, which the majority go unspoken, speak louder than their misinform words. I will never trade this life where I can help the kitties and people looking for a second chance. It's my calling.....

Puffy Paws Kitty Haven is five years old today

Chrissy and I have been rescuing kitties since 1996, Puffy Paws Kitty Haven is five years old today as a non-profit and their is no fanfare.
We never tooted our horn and threw a party on the kitties anniversary day cause this takes funds away from the kitties . I think I'm getting sick or I'm exhausted.
Going all the hours that Chrissy and I do catches up to you once in a while. I need to eat something light but I have no appetite. I had two Boosts supplemental drinks so far.
My body is telling me stop and take it easy today ,my mind is telling you can not slow down their is so much to do.
I think I will listen to my body today and take it easy and make my mind happy and do office work and work on the Thrift Shop on Monday.

Best News Of The Year

Dear Kitty Lovers of The World

Englewood, Florida’s “World’s Greatest Cathouse,“ Puffy Paws Kitty Haven is a 501(c) (3) non-profit, no-kill cat hospice and rescue specializing in providing quality and loving care to special needs cats and finding homes for the adoptable kitties under their care.

Puffy Paws Web Site

“Puffy Paws care for kitties with feline leukemia, FIV, blind kitties, feral cats, epileptic kitties, kitties with only one eye, senior kitties, kitties that do not use their litter box, kitties with thyroid conditions and more - basically unwanted and unadoptable kitties that would be euthanized elsewhere.”
As you may know it has been a daily battle to keep the doors open at Puffy Paws.

Yet at the same time of this breaking joyous news, the kitties need you more than ever to stay ahead of the game today.

We have the best news of the year for you today and I want to thank each and everyone of you who have supported the kitties by caring, sharing, praying and by donating !!! Mad Kitty Love goes out to you all .

After we pay the Thrift Shop rent of $420 today.  We are all caught up on all the operating expenses for November !!!!! WOW !!!!!!!!

Last week we paid the late October, FPL (Power Bill ) of $1075 dollar last week thanks to each and everyone of you.

In addition to the FPL bill being paid ,we had a handsome donation come in last week.

November, FPL bill  was $975 which includes the monthly payment plan.

Which had to be paid by November 14th., this was paid this week.  How cool is that !!!!!

Unfortunately we owed the State of Florida $700 in late fees for a report that was way pass due. We sent out the check last Friday, using priority mail.

This week was the final deadline for that payment. Chrissy and I are so thankful we were able to pay it, if we did not the consequences would have been severe.

Our domain name. Puffy Paws Kitty Haven, was due on Oct 26 and we renewed it for two years and paid $39.

The cell phone bill was due on Oct 31 for two lines at the cost of $83 dollars. That is paid.

The internet is the lifeblood of Puffy Paws fund raising and we owed $225 and that was paid.

The car insurance for the two vehicles for November was $75 and that was paid.

We ordered 4 bottles of Drontal for the complete yearly worming of the Haven at the cost of $168 dollars for each bottle. $672 total.
So that is the great news that we are caught up on the operating expenses over here at Puffy Paws.

Now we are praying that since the Snowbirds are here the Thrift Shop will be busy once again.

But with paying all those funds out that leaves us low on funds once again for the kitties daily needs.

The Kitties Daily Needs Cost $250 Dollars A Day

Only you can make a difference right now by using the Shopping Cart on our Home page, now you can donate to pay for 1 case of wet food, 1 bag of dry, 1 bag of cat litter or the cleaning supplies for the day, or more.  It is all up to what your heart and budget can afford to take care of the kitties.

WET CAT FOOD - 78 Pounds A day * Friskies - 13 oz Cans - Turkey & Giblets - 4 case a day ( 96 Cans) - $67.20
DRY CAT FOOD - 36 Pounds A Day  - Publixs Dry Food -  2 bags  / $24.98
TIDY CAT LITTER - 660 pounds a day - 22 bags - $120
CLEANING SUPPLIES - Bleach, Paper Towels, Black Garbage Bags, Floor Cleaner, Laundry Soap, etc -$25

If you could find it in your heart today we do need a helping hand with the kitties daily needs !!!
If everyone who reads this and if their heart and budget can afford to donate only $10 we will be able to stay ahead of the game for this week.

Thank you for all that you do. We are so grateful for each and everyone of you.

Thank You

Rick & Chrissy & Da Kitties

Why Does EARS Have To Misled The Public........

Why does  EARS Englewood Animal Rescue Sanctuary have to be so disrespectful to all the other no-kills in the area by trying to misled the general public by saying that " EARS is the only No-Kill shelter in the area ".

When in fact that their are other no-kills in the area that they serve.

Puffy Paws is less than a mile from where they are.

People know what they write so their is no excuses for this once again EARS is not the only No-Kill shelter in the area, as the claim they are and as you shall see.

Check out the other No-kill shelters in the area The Pet Pages have a nice page dedicated to the animals’ rescues in the State of Florida and the surrounding local areas

Just to let you know we have been trying to work with the new EARS, to stop this type of behavior but as you can see it is to no avail by their recent facebook activities .

Check out their posting on their facebook page.

EARS is the only No-Kill shelter in the area. Please tell your friends to like us on Facebook. We survive on donations only and help this animals we need funds. Please contact EARS on Dearborn street to help. Donations can include: dog and cat food for our pet pantry, articles to be sold at our weekly yard sale held every Saturday at EARS. And of course $$$$$. Unlike other shelters we do not get money from the county. We are able to care for these animals through the generosity of our supporters. Please become a supporter of EARS. Thank you

Check out my responds on their facebook page with screen shots of it above & below.

EARS is the only No-Kill shelter in the area"- Really ??????

Why are your trying to mislead the public, once again ?

You not the only the only no kill shelter in the area and you know this !!!!!!

Who is putting out this propaganda. once again ????

Deva you out right promised that your group will stop doing this.

You kept your promised when you changed your Web site and now this ?????????

I do not understand this at all !

On your Web site it states - EARS Animal Rescue Sanctuary, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) organization that rescues, shelters, and cares for abandoned, abused, lost and stray dogs and cats until they are returned to their home, are adopted or reach the end of their natural lives. EARS is a "no-kill", care-for-life shelter aiding both cats and dogs in Englewood, Venice and Charlotte and Desoto County.

Please call me !

Puffy Paws has been aiding dogs in the Community since 2009 with their Pet Food Bank.

Puffy Paws is less than a mile away from EARS !!!!!!!

Did you forgot about St. Francis Animal Rescue of Venice Inc. St. Francis Animal Rescue is a 501(c) 3 not-for-profit cage-less, no kill animal rescue adoption center and shelter that is volunteer driven. All of our support comes from private donations and grants - we receive no government funding. If you are interested in donating please visit us online at for more information.

They are 5 miles away from EARS up in Venice.
As you can see you are not - the only No-Kill shelter in the area.

Did your forget about the 100 cats that we took in because EARS said no over the years. When you said no - EARS gave them our phone number and Puffy Paws said YES. Just recently with the New Board - Deva called me and we took in two cats cause you could not. People know what they write so their is no excuses for this once again you are not the only No-Kill shelter in the area. This is becoming a real nightmare once again in dealing with the new EARS.

Why Do We Ask For Help ?

The question of the day is "Why Do We Ask For Help " The simplest answer is we could never take care of the kitties under our care without you.

If I ever stopped asking for help for the kitties, without funds we will have to close.

And of the kitties will be euthanized because they are Special Needs kitties and unadoptable.

Than everyone will say " Why did you not ask for help? " And if I said " I did not want to bother you all " You will say 'Rick What Are You crazy ? How could you let this happen. We would have helped but you did not ask us.

So I will never let this happen as long as I have a mouth and fingers to type. I will always ask for help for the kitties.

The kitties know in their hearts if you can help you do and if not they understand.

We are so grateful that the kitties have friends around the world to help the kitties out when they need it.

And for this we will always be grateful.

You will find us very transparent in all of dealing. We hide nothing. That is the reason why we have the World Wide support that we do. Our Web Site is loaded with articles, videos of our rich History.

Also check out our blog for more background history and the trails and tribulations of running Puffy Paws.

Only God can give me the strength to carry on.

This week I'm working on organization, in order to implement all of the necessaries activities I have to do as a one man band. Unfortunately for the kitties and I , Tarrah is no longer with Puffy Paws. So now I have to figure out how to ebay, run the Thrift Shop, update on all social medias, release Press Releases, live stream the kitties ,produce the pilot for the TV Show and raise the $10.000 a month it takes to run Puffy Paws. Such as life... Only God can give me the strength to carry on.

If you can't dazzle them with brilliance, baffle them with showmanship !!!!!

Special Announcement & Confession Time: Since I have Tarrah on Team Puffy Paws. Production of the pilot of our reality TV show will begin shortly. We are sorting out all the video production equipment and story boarding the first show this week.

So A few day back, I just did not like having  gray hair and I decided to color my hair and I got into Chrissy's hair dye, I thought it will dye my hair brown, ( I know dumb male ) and well now I'm a red head. Now here is my thinking should I keep it red and since, I love reinventing myself every now and than, (Rick "The King of Cats" Kingston ) and since I'm the boogie man of Englewood and everyone loves to talk about little old me and they way I have a hard time treating mean people, I'm thinking lets give them and the World something to remember me by . ( Think Don King -The Boxing Promoter  with his wild hair )

Maybe I should dye my or green or purple or pink.....or should I go back to plain or brown !!!!!!!!!  If you can't dazzle them with brilliance, baffle them with showmanship  !!!!!  - It worked for me when I was the producer and host of Underground TV -a Lease Assess TV Show all about the Rochester Music Scene  back in the early 90's. I was TV pretty back than and now I have a face for radio...MOL

Gossip is what I eat for Breakfast !

My whole life I marched to a tune of a different drummer. I heard it all before. At least when folks are talking about me they are leaving some other poor bastard alone. I like it when I live in people heads rent free- I have always been honest in my actions and deeds.

The good the bad and the ugly, I wear my skeletons in my closet on my sleeve. You know 100% were you stand with me.

Maybe that why I love cats more than mean people.
The great thing about the age of internet I have left a electronic foot print since 2006 with Puffy Paws . Just Google Puffy Paws Kitty Haven and you see what I mean. Nothing to hide ! Our books are open to the public .

Unfortunately we live in a small town and everything gets back to me and I mean everything, These people may not like me but the people around them do. I only hope that these  people will one day put the welfare of the animals in this community above my personality. And truly educate themselves about what we do at Puffy Paws by going to our Web Site, all of our social media pages and than give me a call to work out their issues with me, so  we all may be able to save more animals in this community.

The Apple Does Not Fall To Far From The Tree

Five years ago today my Dad or " Dee ", as I called him passed away. My father was always tough on me but with my wild spirit and I'm going to do what I want to do punk attitude, as I look back he had to. I have many of his qualities, the good, the bad and the ugly. He taught me to be honest above any thing else. He saved my life from a life of drinking and drugs. He made sure I got out of High School and got a Honorable discharge from the Army with his words of encouragement and wisdom.

He taught me to follow my dreams and never quit. He taught me not to be a doormat. Today I'm who I'm becasue of my father, He gave me alot. With his hard work as a foreman at DuPont, he was able to buy the Haven for Chrissy and I. with out him their will be no Puffy Paws.

He loved the kitties and the loved him. He knew he was going to die and he died with dignity and Honor. As he lie on his deathbed he awoke from a nap and look at me and said - " Why The Hell I'm Still Here ". Patience was not his virtue. He told me that that he never knew dying was going to such a beautiful experience.

My last words to him was 'Thank you D for a good life and true to form he last words to me was "You're Welcome...Boy ! Now get out of here before you miss your plane. The next morning he passed away in the Log Cabin home he loved.

When he passed away I was sleeping back in Florida and that night I had the most peaceful sleep I ever had. I woke up to the news that he was gone. From the moment on all the bad childhood feeling I had of my Father passed away that night with him. He was a good man and I was lucky that I had him as a Father.

If he ever want to know what my  Father was like just look into my eyes and you can catch glimpse of him in me ! Because my Father lives on in my words ,actions and deeds.

Do Not Pass Go - Do Not Collect $200

If we had a handful of local  volunteers we will be able to do so much more & the kitties will  be so ever happy.  So if you are local.

Now the topic of the day is Community Service help.  A few weeks ago I had a nice chat with a probation  officer and she agreed with me that probation and doing Community Service is a second chance for people who got themselves in trouble, so that will not go to jail.

My question is how many chances do these people want at the expenses of the kitties at Puffy Paws by costing me time and money by being a full time babysitter for them and going over their wok and changing my plans when they do not show up ?????

I get the good, the bad and the ugly at the Thrift Shop . I have never said that I did not appreciate good help. If you look at the past blogs ,its always been a Catch 22 with the Community Service help.

But if it was not for their hard labor, for those who work, Puffy Paws Thrift Shop will not be what it is today.

These people wreck their own lives. Through their behavior. Words and deeds. They are not going to wreck the running of the Thrift Shop anymore.

The Community Service Application ,that they must fill out is weeding out a lot of the bad apples from the get go, but it is not enough.

The know the rules to continue to do Community Service here, but for some of them, it still has not stop the bad behavior.  So now I asked  them to leave when its not working out.

So far I have never report anyone to their parole office for blatantly violating the terms of Community Service.

But times have changed,. And we need people here who want to work and not want a free ride,

As of today,  people will think twice, once they have read the following on the Community Service application.. And maybe they will save me the headaches and go someone where else off the bat.

So their it is in black and white.

Now my question is how can I wreck someone  life when all done was tried to help.

This is the kicker of the weekend. There is CSP who needs 27 hours by the 7th.

Three weeks ago I asked her to leave before because it was not working out.

I gave her ample amount of time to get her hours done somewhere else.
She failed and begged me to take her back ,so she will no go to jail.

I said OK and she was late on Saturday. No phone call. She never came back when she said she would ,when she left mid-day on Saturday. No phone call their and today Where is she ?????  No phone call....

She has not worked the hours she said she will

I’m not going to report her but she is done doing her hours here. She can go down the road.

And if that means going to jail because she can not get them.

What I’m suppose to do ? What would you do ??????

The music of Sister of Mercy changed my life. Their music is very powerful  , deep and inspirational for me. It grabs my soul and brings that deep inner strength that resides inside me to accomplish my goals in life.  Popeye had his Spinach. I had Sister of Mercy.

Driving back from Florida to go to back to Rochester, New York, way back in the late eighties. I lost everything I had. My daughter was adopted by her step - father in Germany, broke, depressed and suicidal.

I stopped over in Galax, Virginia and keep on playing the Sister of Mercy on cassette over and over again, my brain was on warped speed and could not slow down that night

I decided I did not want to die but I  wanted to live my dreams. Everything I wanted in life came to fruition, in a very short time span, I became a Stand Up Comic. Had my own TV Show "Underground TV, my own Newspaper " The Backflash", I found out that I could help others while living a dream.

Now I listen to the Sister of Mercy when I’m full of fear and doubt in my mission to save the kitties under my care. No one can kick or nothing can kick my ass after the inner strength is pulled up in my soul after listening to the Sisters.

One of the kitties fan was wondering why we had Ensure on the Amazon wish list.
You will find us very transparent in all of dealing. We hide nothing. That is the reason why we have the World Wide support that we do. Our Web Site is loaded with articles, videos of our rich History.

Also check out the rest of the blog for more background history and the trails and tribulations of running Puffy Paws.
We dish it... all. The good, the bad and the ugly !
Now back to the wish list on the right hand side of the Amazon wish list you will find the reasons why we need all product we have on the list.

The Ensure is for Chrissy. Here is what it says for the Ensure. “104 pound Chrissy works up to 18 hours a day taking care the kitties. She is on the go. One pack of Ensure daily keeps the weight on her and gives her the proper energy she needs to do her grueling work schedule. . So please help Chrissy take care of the kitties today.”

( At times we also have asked the kitties fans to send coupons for Ensure )

Now why does Chrissy have to do it by herself, “ It is very unfortunately that this Town and the good old boy network put us in a situation we are in.

They closed down the Haven to all traffic killing our adoptions and cutting Chrissy off from having Volunteers. If we get help for Chrissy we have to pay for the help.

My wife takes care of the 230 kitties. She works up to 18 hours day because Sarasota Code Enforcement banned all traffic at the Haven.

CLICK HERE - To Read The Story As Seen In The Englewod Edge
Chrissy hauls in 660 pounds of cat litter around the Haven daily & takes in back out. She washes over 20 cat litter boxes daily. Twice a day she puts out the wet cat food (70 pounds a day - 2 bags of dry 36 pounds) at 10 feeding stations, She vacuum & mops and dust daily. She gives out meds. She brushes the kitties. She tends to the sick ones. She runs to the Vet and the store for supplies too. She does this day in and day out. She does the work of a paid staff of 10.

My job is to raise the $250 dollars a day to take care of the kitties daily needs, plus the operating expensive, every single day.

On most days I work up to 15-20 hours a day to accomplish this.

I run the Thrift Shop. I raise funds on-line. I take care of the Media. I run to the Vet. I'm our Web Master. I do all the graphic art work. I update on fb everyday. I pick up the kitties daily supplies in the evening. I pay the bills. I pick up donations for Thrift Shop. I put out the SOS's for help. I put out all the fires that pop out daily. I'm my wife's venting post. I'm the fixer.

I’m in a fight for the kitties lives. If I fail at raising the funds needed to take care of the 230 under our care there will be no other option but to close down. What choice would we have.

We see the best of mankind and the worst of mankind in the small Town we live in….

Hope this helps……

Kathleen  M wrote “ I've been clicking the gold banner daily and tonight decided to check up on Puffy Paws. I was appalled to find your funds are so low. And shocked that I don't see rescue groups posting and reposting this news on Facebook. Where are your 3,361 other fans?!? “

Thank you for clicking away. Mad Kitty Love goes out to you Kathleen . And thank you for all of your concerns , which I will address to the best of my ability.

First things first - " Why Do We Ask For Help " ?  The simplest answer is we could never take care of the kitties under our care without help.

If I ever stopped asking for help for the kitties, without funds we will have to close.

And most of the kitties will be euthanized because they are Special Needs kitties and unadoptable.

The kitties know in their hearts if folks can help they do and if not we understand.

We are so grateful that the kitties have friends around the world to help the kitties out when they need it.

And for this we will always be grateful.

I always have to be honest were we stand everyday financially for the kitties and when funds are low and their are none, here is what we do !

JUST ASK - HOPE YOU CAN HELP - That’s is the battle cry over here at Puffy Paws. When we need help we ask and the kitties needs are met by the love of the kitties lovers through out the world.

To run the Puffy Paws its cost  around $250 a day and  around $3,000 in operating expenses .

So far this month alone the kitties lovers around the World have donated on-line
$ 7,778.31.

The kitties have friends on all social media outlets,  Care2, The Animal Connection, Twitter, Utube ,etc and friends from around the world.

For those of you who  like to know what happens when times get tough and we need help ASAP over here at The World’s Great Cathouse.

We send out the “ Cat Signal ”. This is how it works.

We send out the Cat Signal to our donors on our emailing list and now our facebook, Care2, Twitter & Animal Connection fans by posting it on our walls.

For anyone who would like to receive our E-Newsletter and critical updates please sign up for our E-Newsletter below.

This is a crucial  part of Puffy Paws Kitty Haven fund raising endeavors.

Without this we would not be able to raise the funds needed for the operation of Puffy Paws Kitty Haven.

We have very kind heart donors on our list who, last year donated  54,000 dollars.

These generous cat lovers have gave to the kitties, time and time again just by us asking for help when we needed it.

We feel guilty in asking so much over the past year but are so grateful we have this options when times are tough.

When Commissioner Gordon needs help from the Batman and he sends out the Bat Signal in the nighttime sky.

Well. Our list and now our social media,  is "Our Cat Signal ' and the folks who are on it have never let the kitties down.

When we light the skies with it, we are very careful when we use it. But when we do it means one thing" Kitties Needs You “ .

Chrissy and I are trying to be self supported in our other fund raising endeavors but we have fallen short many times and this is when we activate the "Cat Signal "

With the on-line donation and the Thrift Shop we just make it each month.

We are very blessed to receive such support from all over the World and we thank you for the bottom of all the kitties hearts.

Now with the other rescue groups not reposting our sage .I feel that they are having a heck of a time trying to raise awareness and funds for their animals under their care.

Now with facebook we may have 3,361 fans but this month we have around 2,700 actives users because facebook changed the rules and not everyone is active , when we post.

So Chrissy and I and the kitties are very grateful for each and everyone one of you.

We have the best friends in the world.

I hope I answered all of your questions and thank you for being here for the kitties.

We do not believe in cages

All of our kitties are free roaming in the Haven. We do not believe in cages. The only time they are in cages is for a four hour adoption event. We did the Petsmat route before and it did not work out. Our kitties were going cage crazy . See article for background information. If someone one wants to adopt a kitty ,its by appointment only and I will bring the kitty for them to see for a meet and greet at Mike's Pet Store but we would love to still get a running RV.

All of our kitties are free roaming in the Haven. We still have kinks to work out with listing them on Petfinder, as Catherine and I found out over the weekend.

“ Cats are the coolest creatures on this planet. They will love you unconditionally . Their needs are simple. Love - Food - Shelter & Vet Care.
Dealing with people when it comes to Puffy Paws Kitty Haven I see the best of mankind and the worst. I see love in people hearts everyday and on the other hand I see hate and fear.
I’m their protector , their guardians,. I have dedicated my life in caring for cats that no one wanted and that would have been destroyed in any traditional shelter. Town folks call me crazy, maybe I’m ? They call me “The Catman. I’m not a Crazy Catman -

Thank You ! - We made the August FPL payment of $1000

Mad Kitty Love Goes Out To You All !
We made the August FPL payment of $1000.
Thank you all that donated and who helped spread the word. Special thanks goes out to the Microsoft Gang because we put down $600 of it down because of the matching gift program.
We have the best Puffy Paws supporters in the World....
Thank You Everyone.

Mad Kitty Love goes out to Ken W

Mad Kitty Love goes out to Ken W. He has been my best friend down in Englewood since we move here. He was their for Chrissy and I for years when no one else was.
He has been a super duper freind to the kitties. Through out the years he has donated over $2,000 dollars to the kitties. He has been our personal backyard mechanic and has been fixing our cars for years for free. Ken has a heart of Gold.
One quality I always admire about Ken when he took me out to eat and paid for it is that he is always a great tipper to the servers. He is not a cheap man. My Dad who past away in 2006 had the sane enduring qualities as Ken.. Ken is moving back to New Hampshire this week with his kitties.
I always enjoyed his company and deep conversation about life and our love for History. I'm going to miss Ken but thank goodness for facebook so the kitties and I can follow his adventures.
Mad Kitty Love goes out to Ken W & Godspeed to you my freind !

Working in this Florida heat can be very dangerous. This is my third summer running the  Thrift Shop. I know what my body is telling me and I drink lots of water and Gatorade. I tell all my Community Service worker you have to know what your body is telling you and keep hydrated.

Unfortunately for a Community Service worker on Friday he did not heed my advise and ended up in emergency at the Hospital early Friday morning with Heat Exhaustion.  He is doing good today. He was so afraid of not getting his hours and going to jail that he put his life in jeopardy.

I called up the probation office so that they may take care of the hospital bills through the insurance that the Community Service folks are required to purchase. I have a responsibility to keep these kids safe and give them all the information they need to stay safe. Keep him in your prays today .............

I do not think I will survive a beating.

MY REALITY : I'm not a tough guy but I do not think I will survive a beating. You may notice a big buck knife on my side.(Guns Trumps Buck Knifes ).
Chrissy took this picture before I went to feed the kitties late night, due to my schedule. Going out to the Indian Mounds Park Park, late night, I never know who I'm going to meet, pill heads who are dope sick and when they are dope sick ,they are very dangerous, etc.
The time before I went out to the park. All my least favorite young punks in this Town, were hanging up their, their was about ten of them. Their is nothing more they will like to do as to throw me a beating as a little mob. When I saw them. and they saw me, I over heard the chatter. I called Chrisy and told her that my " Hate Club " was in the Park and I may get jumped. So now when they see my little freind hanging from my belt it will give them something to think about. And at the same time this is the way I roll at the Thrift Shop after hours. I had many conversations with the local Sheriffs that when I have the bay doors open at the Thrift Shop late night, when I have to work, it attracts the late night creepy crawlers, pill heads, etc and if they need that $15 dollars for a pill, I just need to give them something to think about, if they want to rob me.
I know guns trumps my buck knife......
In 2011 my freind Terry was murder and another man who ran an Antique Shop was murder by people who were on drugs. Englewood does have a major drug problem and I do not feel like becoming a statics.....
Peace in crazy World !

A Gift of Closure

Precious was Terry's Favorite Kitty at Puffy Paws

Thank you all for donating. In addition to helping the kitties you all gave me a gift. I was able to break free from the Computer and Thrift Shop last night and went to my friend- Terry Edwards -Wake-.He was murdered  last week.  At first when I drove up I could not get out of the Van. It was very emotional for me. I want to thank the Vietnam Vet, who put his hand on my shoulder and said " I will give you the strength to go inside. Terry is waiting for you. "

I cried like a baby before going in. Terry was a highly decorated  Vietnam Vet. They had his medals before his casket. They had a beautiful Video presentation with pictures of him in the Nam, fishing  pictures and with his cats through out the years. He was a very handsome young man with a boyish smile.

When I saw his body in the casket I realize -Terry was finally at peace.

The sad fact now  I realize is that I called the cops on his murder‘er, around 10 times. Every time I saw her and her boyfriend buying drugs at the drug house, I helped to get closed down. ( The young man who ran the drugs out of Grandmother house is now facing 25 years in prison.)

Every time I saw her, I called the Cops. I even almost got into a fight with them as they were cursing me out one night. I was well armed , if they decided to step foot on our property.

When the cops showed up , I told the cops,  I will meet force with force. I will not let our neighborhood be taken over by a brunch of pill heads.

The pill heads, knew who I was and  I made sure they knew I was armed and Puffy Paws was off limits as they trolled down the street and the cops always showed up ,after I saw them.

With the drug house closed down she was out of our neighborhood .

All my efforts were no avail because the cops never arrested her and she ended up murdering Terry.

I’m miss Terry. At the funeral parlor yesterday, I spoke to his sister about the love ,Terry had for the kitties at Puffy Paws and that brought a smile to her face.

As I was leaving she said “ Name A Cat After Terry:…

And I said “I will”

So the next kitty we rescued off the streets we been named “Terry E  or TE for short………
