Good morning everyone, today is Vet Wed. Siam is getting a dental and so is Jayla, they both went in last week but they couldn't get to them, they had a bunch of our cats and a lot of emergencies. Estimate Cost: $300

Siam is a 14 year old Siamese boy and Jayla is a 6 year old tabby girl.

Lehigh is getting his shots , he has aids and goes in every couple of weeks for Depo- Medrol and Convenia shots.
Estimate Cost: $52

Whiskers has aids and she gets Depo- Medrol shots, she goes in every couple of weeks, she has Stomatitis.
Estimate Cost: $52

Morris has aids and also has mouth cancer , so he goes in every week for shots and a health check.
Estimate Cost: $38

I am bringing in urine from our other Morris, so they can check the status of his Diabetes, he also has Asthma.

Lola ,our 6 month old leukemia kitten is getting a health check.

Stella is coming all the way from Orlando, Fl. , she has a broken back , so she has no use of her back legs, she is in no pain and will be getting a kitty cart , to make her life more mobile.

She was rescued from the streets she was dragging herself across the street when this woman seen her and got out and picked her up and brought her to the vet .

Bless her for saving her and caring so much for her, i don't even want to think about what would of happened if she didn't save her.

We hear about and see how cats are suffering needlessly on the streets , too many dying a horrible death!!!

Lola came from the streets in Georgia and was in bad shape and was rescued and brought to vet and had to have surgery to save her eye and she was covered in gashes all over her body.

Her rescuers drove all from Georgia so she could live with other Leukemia cats.

We can never thank you enough for all that you do for these cats, because of your kind hearts we are able to give them the life that they all deserve.

Sad goodbye with a happy ending.

 

Sad goodbye with a happy ending. Heather is saying goodbye to Lola. Paws up goes out to Richard and Heather for rescuing Lola from the streets. When they found Lola her eye was out of her socket and she was starving. Her body was gashed open and bleeding. She was rushed to the vet and spent weeks recovering. They were able to save Lola's eye. What a great couple......

Englewood tried to close the the shop down on the 10th day we were open back in 2009, by calling code enforcement. Yet we we improvise, adapted and overcame and we have raised a half million dollars since 2009, from the Shop office and the the shop itself. If it was not for the Collectable Shop their wold have been no - Puffy Paws. We would have had to close years ago. The items in the shop raises funds when we are open to collectors and dealers and not the general public these days.

I opened the shop to the public on Saturday and it was to no avail. So we're sticking by our guns and only open by appointment to collectors and dealers because the spend money and they know the value of the merchandise.

The last time a collector came to the shop he spent $680 for a cd collection we had and this brought the tires for the Cathouse on wheels.

On Saturday a person got mad at me because I wanted $30 for a rare heavy metal cassette collection of 100 cassette.

The shop office is the communication center to the kitty lovers of the world. I have become a "Social Media High Tech Beggar " it may not be pretty but it works.

Everyday we must ask for help from Cat Lovers from all over the world, so that we may keep continuing our mission in helping the special need & unwanted kitties under our care.Our On-Line - “ Just Ask - Hope You Can Help “ - campaign was launched three years ago and has raised over $500,000.00.

The Majority of The fund Are Donated By The Kitties Lovers Through Out The World.

Last month in March - 2014 - $17,599.71 was donated by the kitty lovers of the World via PayPal

Last year in 2013: $190,000 was donated on-line. $172,686.56 , via PayPal, by the kitty lovers of the world.

Just by asking for help when the kitties need it.

The priority of incoming funds are in this order, the kitties daily needs, vet care and operating expenses.

After that, funds are used for the maintenance and improvement of the Haven for the kitties.

The unwanted & special need kitties are blessed to have a world wide family that loves them ever so much. Thank You.

We came a long ways with the Shop and Puffy Paws is still here because of it.

We are cerebrating with no fanfare, no press release , its another day taking care of the kitties. The Puffy Paws way.

My father would have been 80 years old on April 6th. He pasted away in 2006. I'm the man today because of his knowledge, his wisdom and his back of his hand. He was my father ,my teacher and my friend. He had faith in me as I graduated from High School when they wanted to throw me out, the last quarter of my Senior year. He guided me into AA with a simple sentence, The day I got home from the Army at 21 years old, I was going through the DT's , he said "Boy you do not miss the Army, your girlfriend, or Germany, your #$#%^ thirsty, why don't you get yourself a drink. As soon as those words rolled off his lips, my life had changed in a split second. All that I knew, all that I lived for went out the window of insanity .He asked me to try 3 AA meeting and I been sober ever since, my first one. Today I'm 30 years clean and sober.

He brought the Haven for Chrissy and I, now 200 special needs kitties have a home because of him. He was a man that commanded respect, he taught me to stand up for the underdog, with my word and fists and fight till the end for what is right and just.

He taught me to love all creatures great and small. He would been proud when we open the Collectible Shop, 5 years today on his birthday in his honor. He took me to auctions and flea markets, when I was 8, I got the picking, in my blood from him.

I hope I made you proud with what I did with my life D.

My life is service to others with and without fur, all because of you.

Today is vet Wed.. We have Daisy getting a dental, she has leukemia and is 7 years old. Her sister Sunflower is getting a dental too, she has leukemia too. Morris is going in to be checked and getting his shots, he has aids and also has cancer of the mouth, so he is at the vet every week. He is still doing good, say a prayer for him, he will not be with us much longer, when it is time for him we have to let him go, we do not want any cat to ever suffer. The quality of their life is our number one priority here and always will be. Pepe is getting shots and blood work done , he is feeling under the weather, he is going on 15 years old and we have had him since he was 4 weeks old. We adore him and we have his sister too, Fluffy.

We can never thank you enough for all that you do for these cats, we are eternally grateful and humble always. Your kind and caring hearts have given these cats a wonderful life, the life i wish all animals could have and truly deserve , but do not ever get, they are being abandoned and left in shelters at a alarming rate. How sad is that, it just breaks my heart.

All animals deserve a life time commitment, our strength comes from some thing greater than ourselves. We do this everyday no matter what, their lives depend on us. These cats are innocent and their only crime is being homeless and it is not their fault, too many discarding them and not spaying and neutering them which adds to the over population problem that is already out of control.

Humans are failing them at a level that i just do not understand. People that are doing rescue are getting burnt out and want to give up, but if not for them , than who will care??

There are so many times i want to give up , but i never will , their lives depend on us and i can not fail them , it would be a death sentence for most of them because of their illnesses. My strength comes from above, these are Gods creatures and he has entrusted them to us to take care of them.

I know how happy you must have been when you brought a new carrier for your new furry friend. 
Thinking back the joy that was in your heart the first time, you open the carrier up and let your brand new kitty roam in their new forever home. Years of comfort, years of joy was spent. Never thinking one day your best friend must leave your life leave to call Puffy Paws - Home. 

As you walked up to me with your kitty in the carrier ,I saw the tears in your eyes and the pain in your soul. You must realize when you could not longer care or provide a home, you did the most unselfish act a mother can do, give up your furry child so that they can have a fur-ever home. When you left ,your heart was at ease cause you saw the life that your kitty was going to have. 


The kitties are Kings and Queens at Puffy Paws and God put us on this planet to talk care of those who can not take care of themselves and that is what we do every day.

We love, we laugh , we share our home with your furry friend, providing and seeing to all their needs. Your kitty is safe as can be and with the power of Mad kitty Love and the kitty lovers around the world, they never go with out.

Can you please help to save 200 special needs and unwanted kitties help by spreading the word about the plight of Puffy Paws Kitty Haven. My name is Rick Kingston. Along with my wife Chrissy
we founded Puffy Paws Kitty Haven in 2006. Today we are in extreme danger of closing the doors.....

We are an international word of mouth cat hospice and rescue.
We are located in Englewood Florida and with very little local support the kitty lovers of the world are taking care of the kitties by caring, sharing & donating, a day at a time.

You see, The World's Greatest Cathouse, Puffy Paws Kitty Haven is a 501(c) (3) non-profit, no-kill cat hospice and rescue specializing in providing quality and loving care to 200 hundred special needs cats and finding homes for the adoptable kitties under our care.

We are facing very hard economic times right now and its cost $225 for the kitties daily needs for cat food, litter and cleaning supplies, plus 3,000 in operating expenses every month.

My wife and I do not get paid. 100% of all donations goes for the kitties daily needs and operating expenses.

We are only making it a day at a time. Today we have so few donors, they are doing everything they can to keep the doors open at Puffy Paws.

We need to make aware to the kitty lovers of the world in how close we are in closing the doors. If we closed, the cats would die at the hands of others because the majority of them aren't adoptable because of age, medical issues, feral and behavioral issues.

If we fail at raising the funds needed every day for the kitties under our care, there will be no other option but to close down. What choice would we have?

An entire cat hospice will be wiped out and only painful and sad stories will be told because we could not round up the worldwide awareness and financial help these beautiful cats deserve.

You have the power to avert this tragedy today.

Its a good day at Puffy Paws we caught a break and only you can make it better.

Crunching numbers over here at Puffy Paws. Due to the hard economic times and at the same time having the kitties on a premium diet, which saves in vet bills and daily litter cost.

I think if everything works out we just dropped our daily cost for the kitties per day from $275 to $225.

A saving of $18,250 a year / $50 a day.

Thank you so very much...We made it ! Chrissy has all her litter and cleaning supplies and the kitties will have their breakfast at 9am when Mike's open !!! It was a close one today and I have to remember that intense feeling of fear I had tonight. But first.
A little bit of history about me which I have to dev into my soul and bring the lessons I learned as a professional telemarketing fundraiser and sales rep for many years, from back in the day. When asking for help from new sources on the internet.

REJECTION IS THE WAY TO SURVIVAL & A NEW BEGINNING

The more kitty lovers of the world I ask for help ,the more NO's,
I will get. But the more No's I get ,it only means I will be closer to the " YES WE CAN HELP YOU BY SPREADING THE WORD ABOUT THE PLIGHT OF PUFFY PAWS !!!!

I have to lie down my fear of rejection and do what is before me and celebrate the victories has they happen.

I have to do this now and put down everything that is not working for me and be true to myself in the realm of the exact nature of what I'm doing wrong.

A self inventory you may say becasue my job is to get new donors in our comer worldwide sharing our stark reality.
BUT with results, results and more results...

The only way I know how to do this is from by past and transform myself in the best fundraising machine I can be.

I'm not a humble man when I'm in action, I'm not a man that takes NO easy, I'm one step above a used car salesman, but unlike a used car salesman the truth is my ultimate power of persuasion.

Chrissy has seen me in action over the years as a very successful sales rep and she called me a Roaster and a peacock becasue I need to strut my stuff in order to keep the positive energies flowing.

Yet at the end of each day please know in my when I jump off the stage of worldwide fundraising, I will always be grateful for everything , everyone does for the kitties but getting their is what faces me and for that I need to release the beast that is inside me !!

Update: Got a phone call back. Bad News / Good News.

On the major grants level. - A Grant For A Spay and neuter program..

I was informed that these days, due to a policy change, the Gulf Coast  Community Foundation, are only giving out grants to the groups that are in collaboration with each other.

It turn into a very heated conversation as I explained to him ,while he was browsing our web site, that we tried to work the other groups in the area to no avail.

He than told me that he has worked in animal recuse in the are for 30 years and he well aware of the current situation of the level of  the lack of cooperation of the various groups, and when he first started out,he was astonish , by the lack of cooperation between each groups. I told him that we found out the hard way over the years. And than i  directed him to one of our pages on our Web site.

The True Story of Puffy Paws

I apologized for being so emotional in explaining to him what the other groups have directly done to Puffy Paws over the years. He than said -" Its all alright I can here the sincerity in your voice "and if I can find two groups who want to collaborate - he will have a check for me.

Like my  Father always said: Turn a negative to a positive .So my job in the future is try to find two groups that will eventually  want to collaborate on a group project with reducing the number of  feral cats with a spay and neuter program that will work out for all income brackets.

Yet their is still hope yet from getting help from the local community becasue he directed me to two different site.

One to get funding for smaller projects

ASKING FOR HELP LOCALLY:  WHY NOT US ????

In the years past we have not had good luck with getting a solid response from the local Gulf Coast   Community Foundation, http://www.gulfcoastcf.org/

In seeking aid from them. We never even got a chance for the application process with them for any of the programs, that they offer the other Humane societies and animal rescues in our area. Which has resulted in hundreds of thousands of dollars for them through out the years. 

Today I talk to the receptionist and brought up those concerns about the difficulties we had , with being told "NO:, one year from the git go. The other year, not getting phone calls back, and what did we have to to do to receive help from them and she said " Maybe We Can Not Help You " !!!

She than transfer me to a man she said could help - I left my number on a voice mail for Mark P. I will keep all you updated on this journey.
